[TSOM-Announce] Fwd: Musicality workshop titles and info

What are these workshops all about?

Saturday January 23  from 11 till 1

Are there commas in your dancing?

Spoken language uses many nuances: punctuation, exclamation, commas etc. within a sentence or paragraph. It makes a story interesting! Tango music is no different. This workshop you will learn to become an interesting Tango dancer by using proper grammar and punctuation.

Saturday January 23 from 1.30 till 3

What Am I Hearing and For Goodness Sake, What Are You Listening To?

The violin says "smooth long strides" to me, but my leader is only taking short rhythmic steps. Are we listening to the same music?

Also: The Orquesta Tipica? What is that?

Sunday January 24 from 12 till 2

Let's race to the finish " said no tango dancer ever!

Passion, Temperament, Strength, Kindness,  these are some words to describe a feeling of a movement. Tango can feel fast and yet kind, or slow but yet strong.  How do we communicate and dance what we hear in the music? And what are the different ways of expressing the music?

Sunday January 24 from 2.30 till 4

Repeat to remember - Remember to repeat

Play time! The music starts and you determine how you would like to dance the music, the challenge of course is to gently but firmly tell your partner. Will he/she respond? And in turn will you respond to the subtle or not so subtle clues from your partner?

The workshops are meant to follow one another. We will refer to the the material from the previous workshops. So we recommend that you either choose to take all 4 workshops, or the 2 workshops on Saturday, or the first one on Saturday. When you want to come to only the Sunday workshops you need to bring a partner and work with him/her.
