| | | Classes this Week: This week in socially distancing classes, we will be joined by Wendy Huebner. Wendy moved to Buenos Aires in 2011 from MN. She was a mainstay in my classes here before that. She was a ballroom teacher in her hometown of Milwaukee for awhile. We always hang out with her when we visit BAires, and she comes with us to milongas there. Log on the same way you have before: it's easy! You can join with the video camera, or mute your mic and turn off your video and talk or lurk. Same links as ever, just click here on your phone or computer: https://meet.google.com/fbu-xbiy-jjs Otherwise, to join by phone, dial +1 774-404-2649 and enter this PIN: 959 028 975# To view more phone numbers, click this link: https://tel.meet/fbu-xbiy-jjs?hs=5 Private Lessons: Yes, we can have a socially distanced lesson here if you bring your own partner. Or we can do a video lesson - it works great! Tuesday Milonga: You need this, you know it! Come and join us! Click here on your phone or computer, and have your adult beverage ready: https://meet.google.com/fbu-xbiy-jjs We'll try another garage milonga next week. Actual food, drink and seeing each other. Let's do it! Give me an idea for a theme. Musings: Are you confused because it seems that everyone has a different opinion on how to learn to dance tango? In my 20+ years of teaching, I have heard so many ways of saying the same thing, some awfully confusing things, and some things that are just wrong. Usually the confusion is because there has been a key bit of information that may seem obvious to the teacher (usually a natural dancer), but is lost on the student. Sometimes terms are not translated well, or understood differently in Argentine Spanish. Sometimes something that works for one leader or follower may not work for someone of a different body or skill type. Maybe the advice comes from a follower who doesn't lead, or a leader who doesn't follow. If you are confused, don't despair. Bring it to me and I'll try to explain it. My long experience helps me to help you avoid the pitfalls of advice that is confusing, not meant for you, or just plain wrong. It can be painful to have to throw away or fix something you paid for, but the sooner you do it, the sooner you get to what you really want - to dance tango beautifully and well.. | | | Tango Boutique! Clothes, shoes and accessories for the dancer. Clothes that fit, stay on, have color, flow beautifully, with real style. And great prices! Shoes from $40 to $150, including some great values in preowned. All clothes under $100. Come and shop during parties and get an unbiased opinion from seasoned tango dancers. :) | | Buenos Aires! Time to plan for 2020 if you want to go on my tour! The 2020 trip will be in November to December. Pick the dates that work for you and let me know so I can arrange housing. I'll need to know for sure, with a deposit, by the end of July 2020. Limited space is available, so that I can give you the attention you deserve. We have so much fun!
