Musings: Last week we had the opportunity to listen to one of the performers from Forever Tango share some of her memories of the years she performed with Carlos Gavito. What a great life she has led! The clothes, the places, the dances... it must have been amazing! But then I thought - what a great time I have had with tango. The people, the places, the dances, the festivals, the concerts, the embraces, the cruises, the picnics, the shows, the parties -what great fun we have had! Tango has allowed me to go places and do things and meet people that I never thought would be possible. And the clothes I get to wear! And how does a small town girl from the farm get to dance in Buenos Aires every year? And have a legitimate reason to own this many beautiful pairs of shoes, that I actually have great occasions to wear? I count as friends doctors, lawyers, carpenters, actors, musicians, architects, and sometimes even dance in front of people for actual applause. And more adventures await.
