TSOM Announce is having problems, and no messages are coming through.  If you are a promoter and have sent a message, it is likely you did not receive an acknowledgement which means the moderator cannot see your message to release it.

The moderator has sent in a ticket to the support center of the TSOM website provider. The website provider has confirmed that they are aware of the problem and are working on it.

We have 2 more classes left for ALL LEVELS before the end of the year.

"PARADAS & PASADAS", will be a perfect topic to continuous after what we have been doing with my students at the U.

Find foot contact with your partner to invite her to pass over your legs and  giving her a lot of room for embellishments.

Is a beautiful sensual game that everybody uses in this dance and is easy to be done plus is a good way to set up ore advanced figures and turns.

Dec 19 and 26 as always 8 to 9:30 pm at 4 Seasons.

Cost of just those 2 classes will be $30 or $20 by class and 50% off for Full Time Students with ID.

This will be a perfect class for the one of you that have been gone from classes for a long period of time.

A beautiful and fun opportunity to catch up with your tango.

[TSOM-Announce] Puro Tango

The third friday of the month is upon us, and that means it's time for the last Puro Tango of the year. Stop shopping and put away the tape and paper for the night.
Join us for a relaxing evening of the best of the golden age of tango.
Light snacks and beverages will be on hand but feel free to bring your own. Music starts at 9:30 and admission is a mere $10-students $5.
This is the last milonga of the year at Four Seasons.

[TSOM-Announce] Tango this week: Classes, parties, Sat. workshop and St. Petersburg!

Classes this Week: All classes are on as usual. I have so much to show you! I have brought back lots of great stuff from Buenos Aires, and I am determined to get the Minnesota Tango community on the right track to being one of the best in the country.  Come and help me do it!

Tuesday Party:  Tuesday the 17th at 9, after the lessons a special Tuesday. It's a Tangueria! We will have Argentine treats from my BA trip - alfajores, dulce de leche, Malbec, even some Fernet.  Come and shop in the boutique, get the first look at the shoes, clothes and other goodies, and dance with us.

Weekend Workshop Saturday Dec 21st:  Update on Buenos Aires: I am always surprised by the misconceptions about what is going on in tango in Buenos Aires.  As the Tango Mecca, it is important, and fascinating, to know what is new, what is traditional, what is considered important, what is changing and what never changes.  Anyone who feels that the essence of tango is important will want to attend this workshop.  If it has been awhile since you have been to BA, come to get your spirit back. (You know what I mean)   12:30 Saturday, $20.

Milonga Baile Ruso Russian Milonga:  St. Petersburg Restaurant, 7:30 lesson, 8: dance.  Elegant space, close to downtown, full bar (and vodka bar!), great martinis, wood floor, Russian inspired food. I received more good comments about this place than any other, including someone who said it was her favorite milonga EVER! Lesson at 7:30 (invite your friends!) and dance from 8:30 until midnight.  Huge, free parking lot.  St.Petersburg Restaurant, 3610 France Av. N, Robbinsdale 55422, Lesson at 7:30, dance 8 to 12a, $6-8.

Private Lessons:   I am still teaching through the holiday season.  Call me to schedule!  And don't forget Gift Certificates for your friends.

Upcoming:  Silver and Gold New Year's Eve:
Dinner, DJ'd tango dancing, (swing and salsa sets, too), New Years Eve countdown, champagne toast at midnight, hats and noisemakers, and wonderful tango dances.  You are invited to dress in your fanciest! Silver and/or gold especially admired!
$20 (Milonga only, starts at 10:30PM ) to $40 (with dinner). After December 27th, dance is $25 and dinner and dance is $45. Student discount is half off.

[TSOM-Announce] Fire and Ice Milonga Caliente

Some say the word will end in fire, some say in ice – I just hope I can still dance. 

Join us on Saturday, December 21st for the UTango Milonga Caliente! This month we will have a fire and ice theme, so please dress in white or red (and other fire colors). We will enjoy the DJing of Eric Li as he spins us back to the Golden Age of tango music. Please feel free to bring a dish to share!

The dance floor will be ready for you at 9pm, with dancing until 1:30 (or until we get too tired). The milonga will be held at the University Baptist Church, found at 1219 University Avenue, in Dinkytown. 

Suggested donation: $5 - $10.

[TSOM-Announce] Desperados Holiday Practilonga this Monday

Dance on!

This Monday, December 16th, we will have a Holiday practilonga.

The very excellent DJ Paul Lohman, aka DJ Pablo will been the playing only the most premium, dry-aged tandas with smokey hints of citrus and reindeer.  Starting time will be 7:30 for the most eager elves, but don't come too late as we will finish around 11:30. It's the holidays, but it's still a weeknight! 

The cost is $8, but for Desperados only $4 (You should join us!)

As always, we will meet at the Eagles Club on 2507 east 25th st. Minneapolis 55406

Plenty of free parking and all the other amenities of the club.

We will have some light snacks. Some of them might be healthy, but l'll try to focus on the christmassy good stuff :)

[TSOM-Announce] Debut in Minneapolis of Argentine tango singer Claudia Pannone

Time is getting closer to the debut of Claudia Pannone in the Twin Cities and I just wanted to send you a reminder and more details than those I had back in September when I first announced it.

Please mark your calendars if you didn't do it already, you won't regret it!

Claudia Pannone is one of the young gems of the tango voices in Argentina.  She is well known after her European tours with Gotan Project and her current engagement in Argentina's elegant venue at Faena Hotel, in Buenos Aires.  More details about her:

She will make her debut in Minneapolis, offering two concerts, on January 10th and 11th at the Open Window Theater.  For more details about these events and to purchase tickets, visit:

When: Friday, January 10th at 7:45pm

What: concert followed by a milonga

Ticket price: $25 per person

 

When: Saturday, January 11th at 7:45pm

What: concert followed by an Argentine reception with wine, empanadas and mate.

Ticket price: $35 per person.

[TSOM-Announce] Mini Milonga to be held in place of Monday's Practica, December 16th, 2013

In place of the Monday Evening Tango Practica, the "tango deperados" will host a mini-milonga on Monday, December 16th.

The DJ will be Paul Lohman. He will play his great selection of music in tandas for social dancing.

As usual, we will be in the North Ballroom at the Eagles Aerie, 25th Street and 25th Avenue in Southeast Minneapolis.  We will start at 7:30 but this Monday we will continue until 11:00 or longer.
