[TSOM-Announce] A totally fun tango non-competition with really cool prizes and a great bunch of dancers... who of course would be you! 16 FEB 9:00

The Tango Desperados present:

Movements from the Desperado Zone

A totally collaborative, non-competition for sharing your favourite dance ideas and winning really nice prizes!  Come onto the floor and show us something you like: it could be a big move or a little move, a turn, an embellishment, a volcada with strawberry sauce, a rhythmic twist with on something familiar, or something completely different. It just has to be tango and something you like.  Whether you learned from a master, made it yourself, stumbled on it during a dance or just stole it from YouTube, it’s all good.

Everyone who enters will make our practica that much nicer. There will be some real winners in the people who get out and share for the first time, and in people who polish-up a nice move to share, and all the folk who watch; So lots of winners  J

You can be a complete beginner and still win a prize. All you have to do is participate.

Prizes will be awarded by chance though. Everyone who shares will have their name in a hat to be selected for one of the prizes. The only special exceptions are for Scott, Michael, and Diana.  They can enter, but can’t win L. (But their partners can win!)

The Prizes are really nice: They are Friday-Saturday passes for Nick Jones and Diana Cruz’s forthcoming weekend workshop in Minneapolis (March 20-22, 2015) See Diana Devi for workshop details or watch for the flyer next week.

Each pass will cover 3 classes: (1 Friday / 2 Saturday)!

We will award at least 2 passes.  If we get 10 or more couples to enter, we’ll award 4 passes. So tell your friends to come over and share.

Anyone can enter. Just come in to the practica and pay the usual $5 for practice (Desperados don’t pay anything extra of course J)

Suggested music : Tango by DiSarli : We’ll be ready to play Organito de La Tarde; Don Juan, and Germain all by DiSarli.  If you have a special request, we’ll try to accommodate, if you tell us the week beforehand.

Show off time: 16 February at the Tango Desperados Practica, ‘round about 9pm.

There might be more rules, but probably nothing that common sense wouldn’t already suggest. We might have to make adjustments at the last minute, but this is just a bit of fun and not the mega-millions lottery! J

PS. If we get a good showing, and we have a lot of fun, we may try it again for the Alex Krebs workshop in June … just maybe..
