The Social dance, Argentine tango beyond the class room

Now that you have started to come to classes, you probably are wondering when should I go out social dancing? A "milonga" in Argentine Tango terms.
The answer is: anytime you want to! After lesson #1. Come and play and meet people. That is a sure way for you to learn and enjoy the dance faster. Tango is not just about the moves, it is about relationships, and laughter, and some classy etiquette, and the music. The tango is danced a certain way because of the social setting. Having a sense of humor helps; movements will fail, embraces will feel a little funny, and when you accept that with a smile on your face all will be well. Yes, you will see dancers that are better than you, no big deal: they have started the same way you did!  Like the above chart says: common social skills will get you a dance!
Still not certain? A great place to find your bearings: at a practica! We offer one almost every Saturday afternoon from 3.30 to 5.
For more place to dance and practice your tango go to our local Tango Society webpage and find the calendar :

Flawless flowing movements: Planning ahead?
As a leader you are always planning ahead in the dance. After this forward cross I can lead a volcano, or boleo, or ....  And as a follower you have to be in the moment and let the movements that are suggested to you flow into your body and execute them flawlessly!     We will experiment with volcadas (according to my spellcheck it should be volcanos, although volcadas do sometimes erupt into something else) Different ways to enter and to get out! Making them a part of your vocabulary.
Practica!
every Saturday 3.30-5
At the Social Dance Studio we host a practica for you to come in and practice your skills, teachers are available to answer your questions as well. $5 p.p.
Come join us at the Social Dance Studio
NOTE: no practica Saturday february 28
