| | | Classes this Week: Tuesday nights we have been working on a variety of things in the beginning class, but mostly on the ocho cortado. We will review, then move on to the crosada. The follower goes into the crosada constantly in tango - of course, she looks beautiful that way. It also is a musical element. Are you missing the lead for this essential step? is your lead clear? Are you getting all you can out of the crosada? First class starts at 6:30. Thursday night I have been asked to just review and add to what we learned last week with paradas, morditas and stepovers, as it was really intensive. So we will do that, and make sure you really own it! 6:30 intermediate, 7:45 advanced. Private Lessons: Tango dancing is good for you in many ways, but it is also good for your body! It is especially good for your back, your feet, and your muscles, but only if you are doing it right. If you are feeling that your back is hurting, your hips or knees, and you notice it after you have been dancing, you might be doing something that could be easily corrected. Come and see me, and we will make sure that you are still tangoing when you are 100 and beyond! If you have been vaccinated, we can have a lesson together. Tuesday Milonga: A milonga for those who have been vaccinated. Always a fun time, but it's been a wild time lately!. A great mid-week break to hang out, talk, have a glass of wine and some nice dances. This week's theme: Summer Berries. Strawberries, raspberries, cherries, blueberries - they're all in season now. Let's celebrate with food, liqueurs, wines, and maybe some fruity costumes! Tuesday night at 8:30 $5 suggested. Weekend Events: Appreciation & Charity Milonga Sat, June 26, 8:30pm – 11:30pm Four Seasons Dance Studio, 1637 Hennepin Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55403 (map) Event to honor Sabine Ibes' years of service to tango community. Questions: Michael Kane nomorar@visi.com Fred Gommels Fred@blueroomballroom.com Musings: I've been hearing from some people lately who have been out of tango for some time. They are going to return, and that is such exciting news for us. If you have been out of tango for some time, come on back! Now is a great time. You will be welcomed with open arms. If you are hesitant because you think people won't remember you, or that you have forgotten everything - don't worry. When you started you didn't know people, and you didn't know anything, but you came anyway. And you'd be surprised who you remember, and what you remember. Plus there are great new people to meet and make friends with. Yes, the tango scene changes, and that's a good thing. Come back and make it even better!! | | | Tango Boutique!
