Greetings TSOM Members,
Fall is (finally!) in the air and another tango filled year is drawing to a close.
That means it's time to begin the process of TSOM Board Member elections.
The openings for 2018 are President, Vice President and 3 to 5 Members at Large.
The Board Members with expiring terms include: Gregory Bringman, Scott Chase,
Terri Davis, Suzanne Doyle, Paul Lohman, and Ray Shudy. Scott Chase has already
agreed to re-run, and we are hopeful that one or two additional current members will
also decide to re-run.
The TSOM Nominating Committee chair is Fran Howley, please feel free to contact
her with any questions you might have at franmhowley@gmail.com or 612-869-8971.
Fran would also love to hear from you if you are interested, or know someone who
would be interested in participating on the TSOM Board. Qualifications to be included
on the ballot include; Love of Tango, TSOM Membership, and active participation in
the local Tango scene. Organizational and computer skills are helpful, but not required.
The Board meetings are held once a month in a central Minneapolis location, and
Board Members share the responsibility to host TSOM Milongas.
Please consider giving back to the tango community and to TSOM. We need creative
ideas, enthusiasm, commitment for the 2 year term, and willingness to help out at events.
Fran and the Nominating Committee members will be contacting individuals in the next
several weeks to talk about Board openings. Please take these calls as a compliment
and give our request serious consideration.

We are very fortunate to have many fine teachers in our midst. Even nicer, they occasionally take some time to share their insights with us at Desperados. Tonight we are delighted to welcome Miriam Lee Ziven, who will stretch our steps, our turns, and our tango brains with a tasty teacher lesson. Please join us for short and engaging lesson to expand your dance possibilities.
We will start the taster near enough to 8:15 and end before 9 so we’ll have time for experimentation and individual practice.
