| | | Classes this Week: This week in Tuesday classes at 6:30, we are again running through a very concise and careful review of tango basics. You may have heard all of this awhile ago, but I bet you have forgotten some of it! Of course, you will also need to practice it. This week we will review the molinete, and try to get to paradas.
Private Lessons: Yes, we can have a socially distanced lesson here if you bring your own partner. If you have been vaccinated, we can have a lesson together. It is lovely to dance again! Or we can do a video lesson - it works great!
Tuesday Milonga: The Tuesday milonga is back! Starts at 8:00 It is only in person for those who have been vaccinated right now, but luckily more and more people are able to say that! Come and join us! This week's theme is Cinco de Mayo. Bring your tequila, tacos, tortillas, and maybe wear your sombreros and flowing skirts with ruffles. Or you can join us virtually. Musings: I read that one of the sad side-effects of children not going to school in person is that they get used to being by themselves. Many are retreating into their rooms, playing video games or texting, and "may become withdrawn, lethargic or uninterested". Well, I thought, what about adults? It almost certainly is the same for adults who are used to being out with their friends and suddenly that is taken away from them. I believe it is true, and I have no better proof than the euphoria I have seen in the demeanor of my dance partners. Giggling, clapping, jumping up and down, laughing, and the desire to hug everybody - it is truly amazing. But why believe me? Come and see it for yourself at a live tango event!
