[TSOM-Announce] Hiawatha Tango Orchestra playing at "Milonga en el Alma" at 4 Seasons on Saturday Oct 6, 9:30PM

Live Music and Recorded Tango Classics this Saturday at 4 Seasons!

Milonga en el Alma is being hosted this month by Bob Barnes and the Hiawatha Tango Orchestra. HTO will play danceable tangos from the golden age as well as a few of Bob's original tangos and vals. DJ'd music starts at 9:30. Live music 10-11PM and Bob will DJ traditional tangos, milongas, and vals into the wee hours. Wine, fruit, and light snacks provided. Suggested donation: $15

The Hiawatha Tango Orchestra is Bob Barnes on bandoneon (tango accordion), Lara Bolton on Piano, Dave Carbonara on Bass and Natalie VanBurkleo-Carbonara & Wendy Tangen Foster on violins. We are very excited to have Wendy (of "Rogue Tango") as our featured violin soloist!

Here is a video of the premiere of "Tango Desperado" at "Tango Desperados" last July:  https://youtu.be/MBRRiBKS6uc  (Thanks to Paul Lohman for taking the video!)

HTO is getting ready for a recording project of Bob's originals and some tango classics. This will mostly be as a demo so we can play at more classical chamber music venues and spread our love of Tango music. We will release our recordings under Creative Commons, which means that the music will be free to share for personal use, but Bob will still own the copyrights. Right now it is almost impossible to pay for a recording project through sales of the finished product, so we will be doing some fundraising from the tango community. We will accept donations to help defray recording costs. All profits tonight will go toward recording. We will start a kickstarter-style campaign later in the Fall.

We hope to see you soon!
