I have had several new people start tango because of this article in the Star Tribune about Argentine Tango. Let's keep the buzz going! Share with all your friends! startribune.com argentine-tango-finds-home-in-minnesota

Upcoming: New Event!!:  Victor's on Water:  An elegant new space - VIctor's on Water in Excelsior, MN has invited us to have some milongas there on Thursday nights!! Nice floor, food and drink specials. This place reminds me of Hotel Ivy, one of our most popular midweek milongas. We will start on Thursday July 13th, 2017.  205 Water St, Excelsior, 55331   We'll start with a fun lesson (7:30), then dance at 8PM to 10:30  $5.  Thursday nights are Ladies Night on Water Street in Excelsior, so this fine restaurant wants to do something special.  www.victorsonwaterstreet.com

We will have a tango event again at the 333 Turf Club, downtown Mpls, on July 19th from 4pm-6pm! They loved having our group there last summer, and we loved being there! This is a beautiful space, and the people who attend are young and enthusiastic. This is a happy hour for the tenants, and the theme is South American. Free!!

Georg Shoepf will be here! He was the teacher who happened to be passing through Minneapolis last year, and we convinced him to teach a few lessons. Students loved him!  He will be back, around 28th of July to 13th of August. We will hold several workshops while he is in town. Topics may include: arrastre & barrida variations; easy volcadas for a nice dance flow; manage the sacada; bits and pieces for milonga (and how they fit together); playful ocho cortadas.

Classes this Week:  How are your basics? Once your basics are solid, the more complicated moves and embellishments are easy. Until the basic technique is there, these moves will be labored, unmusical and uncomfortable. I see a lot of poor basics on the floor - many that could be easily fixed. We've been starting a series on secadas in Intermediate classes. I see a great need for improvement in this area as I watch local dancers in the milongas. Another need I see is turns, so we will do those in Beginning. Intermediates are always encouraged to come early and help out in the beginning class.  In Advanced we're adding secadas to turns

Private Lessons: Do you need a tango tuneup? Sometimes it can be painful to realize this, especially after you have been dancing for years, but it shouldn't be. Even the best need continuing education - if you're finished learning, your finished. Privates are the answer!

Tuesday Milonga: Always a fun time, but it's been a wild time lately!.  A great mid-week break to hang out, talk, have a glass of wine and some nice dances. $5 suggested.
