| | | No Hotel Ivy this week - they have another event. Heads up, though - the night before Thanksgiving is traditionally a huge dance night (no work the day after!) Be sure to reserve that night for the Hotel Ivy milonga! This Saturday, November 9th at 5:00PM in conjunction with the Alejandro Ziegler event: Tango Technique Intensive Workshop. Walking. Addressing the floor. Posture. Embrace. Clean lines. Beautiful embellishments. We are going to work intensively to get the core elements of tango that are the most difficult, but the most important. One you have these, we will work to create beautiful ganchos, boleos, voleos, and volcadas, effortlessly. My assistants and I will work with each of you to get the best tango possible. Afterwards we'll have dinner here before we go to the Alejandro Ziegler Tango milonga. These dinners are great fun, and really helps you to cement relationships in the community. $30 with dinner, $20 without. We especially invite our friends from out of town to join us! Please call to reserve. The Alejandro Ziegler Tango Quartet( http://www.alejandroziegler.com) performs in the style of classical tango and new compositions. Instruments are: violin, bandoneon, double bass and piano. Their sound instantly invokes images of the drama and sensuality of tango. Check out the events at: www.bataclantango.org. I am leaving for Buenos Aires Wednesday, Nov 20th, but classes will continue with Augusto and his assistants teaching. You won't want to miss them! I will return on Dec 12th, and will have the Advanced class that night.
Price Increase coming! When I return from BA, the cost of classes will increase to $20/each. You will still be able to get the lower price if you prepay for 4 classes at the beginning of the month. Remember - at my classes, you get the benefit of 1 1/2 hour, small class sizes with lots of individual attention, plus a teacher who has been involved in tango for 20 years, and travels to Buenos Aires not just once or twice, but every year.
