What could spark the wrath of Thor and anger the Asgardian Lords in the high sweetness of summer?
What could disturb their peerless equanimity, as they bask in the light of the 9 worlds?
Jealousy you say? Hah! How can Gods be jealous of mere mortals?
But there was something last summer; in August.
Something that brought the wrath of Thor upon our Mississippi...
For wrath we saw, and wrath we laughed...
I                say, it was the sounds of a perfect summer cruise, sailing                on a perfect summer                night: The nicest dancers were enjoying our magnificent                river;
and the sounds of laughter mingled with the murmur of gentle waters, together rising into the perfect sky above.
The Gods looked down, and they wanted to join us. Lo! They wanted to be us!
But the Gods were not invited!  Alas!! They did not buy tickets when the chance was offered, and on that perfect evening when they glanced down, the boat was already full!
It was too full for the Gods, and sadly, too full to wedge even one other mortal dancer aboard.
Thus began a thunderous cosmic tantrum. While we danced our way across the sinuous Mississippi river on the back of that beautiful river boat,
                Thor raged. And Thor stormed.
And Thor was not pleased with our responses!...  Fury! He spat and flashed, we laughed!
He roared and thundered -- we screamed in delight and danced onward!                 (Just ask someone who was there!) In the battle of jealousy vs joy... Joy won!
So this year… Don't be an angry Asgardian. Book your tickets now.  For when they are gone, they are gone. Not even the Gods can help you then.
Please, join us on Friday August 9th for three hours of tango in one of the most beautiful environs ever created.
Dance with us...and make the Gods rage with envy!

Find us at the foot of Saint Paul, and board the Magnolia Blossom, an authentic river boat with a large open dance floor up top and air-conditioned seating with cash bar on the main deck.
Enjoy the summer air, the river views, and the company of friends. Be pulled onto the dance floor by the musical delectations of DJ Pablo! (The deceptive nom de guerre of Devious DJ Paul Lohman) Share a great evening with us that will have you smiling all night, and even into January when the river is frozen, but your memories are warm.
Of course, a special event means a few things are different:
· Space is limited; therefore, we need to sell the tickets in advance.
· We are capped at 35 leaders and 35 followers.
·                            We are giving priority to people who book with a partner of the complimentary roles.
(We want everyone to enjoy dancing, and we want to have good role balance, so we are counting on you.
Bookings will be accepted for partners or for dual role dancers only this year until July 19th or until space is filled.)

· We all need to be on board for a 7 pm sharp departure; Boarding (and the fun!) starts at 6:30 pm. The voyage will end at 10pm.
Tickets are $35 (not much more that a movie ticket and snacks these days, but much more memorable!)
Contact Terry Holten (TerryFHolten@gmail.com) for your reservations.
After the 27th of July, the price will increase... a lot!
Warmest regards,
                Michael Kane,
                Terry Holten,
                And your friends at Desperados.
P.S. Remember: we have to get there on time!
