[TSOM-Announce] Tango Opera - Maria de Buenos Aires

Have you Heard?

 

 

Some of you have already heard the buzz that the Astor Piazzolla opera, “Maria de Buenos Aires,” will be presented this coming July by the Mill City Opera Company. The TSoM Board has been working with the Mill City folks to make this a very special event for tango in the Twin Cities

 

Performances will take place at the Machine Shop near St. Anthony Main. At the present time, tickets are only available for opening night. In early May, tickets for the other performances will go on sale – “pre-sale” tickets on May 8^th and all tickets on May 15^th.

 

Lessons and Milongas

There will be a lesson given by our local tango teachers before each of the performances, and there will also be a 90 minute milonga after each performance with music by local DJs.

 

Complimentary Tickets

Now for the best part, TSoM has negotiated complimentary tickets for each of the performances. These will be available to TSoM members through an application process described below. The complimentary tickets are "standing room" tickets for the balcony area overlooking the stage. The performance is 95 minutes. Those who receive tickets will be expected to participate in the milonga that will occur after each performance.

 

Tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Sometime during the first week in May, I will send out a link to an online form that can be filled out. On this form you will indicate your preference with regard to the performance you would like to attend. An announcement about exactly when the form will be available (the day and the time) will be sent via “TSoM Announce” a few days before the date when the application process begins.

 

Complimentary tickets will be available for

     Friday, July 14 - 40 tickets available (Opening Night)

     Sunday, July 16 - 12 tickets available

     Tuesday, July 18 - 12 tickets available

     Wednesday, July 19 - 12 tickets available

     Thursday, July 20 - 12 tickets available
