"An Evening with You and Rogue Tango" happened last night and those who watched and/or listened are still smiling. First and most importantly, if you missed the wonderful music of Rogue Tango, you can still listen to all the music on TSoM Facebook. We think that between zoom and facebook, well over 100 folks spent the evening together.
Those of us watching through zoom experienced creativity at its zenith, technology at its best and it's most frustrating and the Eduardo/Mary Jane team amazing juggling of phones, texts, computers, drawings, and glitches all with smiles and calm demeanor. Eduardo (Zoom master) led us into private chat rooms with topics to share. Show and Tell items in my pod included live cats, sails from a catamaran, copper wire jewelry, a homemade Argentinian condiment and an original paper announcement of the 1st TSoM milonga when Lois was TSoM president. I should also mention that I saw some dancing in the background: one gentleman with his dog and another with a la life size teddy bear. Oh yes, there were some human couples as well.
This TSoM endeavor was experimental for all. Eduardo, Mary Jane, Scott Mateo, Wendy, Tom and Joe put hours of many days into creating the fun evening. Although TSoM made a payment to Rogue Tango, it in no way compensated for all the time and effort. It was wonderful to see so many Tango friends. I think I have been in denial about how lonely this time is without dancing, hugs, close up conversations and fabulous music...even miss the rough Loring floors! Please stay healthy so we can get back to the serious business of dancing for fun.
