Greetings!
Hiawatha Tango Orchestra will be playing on Peavy Plaza next to MN Orchestra Hall on Friday July 19, 6-7:45 PM.
The MN Orch will be playing a ticketed, indoor concert of Latin American music featuring renowned violinist Karen Gomyo playing Piazzolla's "4 Seasons". This is part of the MN Orchestra's outdoor "Sommerfest", where they augment concerts with free live music outside before the big show inside. This will be a "Concert for dancing". There should be plenty of space for dance, but it will most likely be on concrete, so factor that in to your shoe choices.
This is a great opportunity to bring your non-dancing friends to see what tango is all about. This is also an opportunity expose random folks to tango. Few non-dancers never just show up to a dance studio and fall in love with tango: they see it at a public event, often with live music, and say "I want to do that!".
