[TSOM-Announce] Fwd: July Tango & I Newsletter😊✨

Dancing with people

Being in the "zone" while dancing, you might have heard about it, or when lucky, experienced it for your self. A personal experience , a sense of bliss, profound happiness in a very calm sort of way. Time standing still, a dream state, flow, a mental state of heightened focus, well, you get the picture!       I have been lucky to reach that tango moment and stay in that tango moment zone.  First I experienced it while following, and recently my mind was able to let go during a lovely tanda where I was leading.
Being able to teach this dance to people is a blessing. I hope that they too get to experience those moments! Tango moments are usually a complete surprise, you cannot "make" them happen.

Sometimes that means stepping into a different kind of zone,  much like the twilight zone, the unknown! This could mean:

  • Showing up at your first dance class
  • Embracing a person
  • Accepting a dance from a total stranger
  • Learning a different role
  • Having an open mind, an open heart and an open will to change
So many ways to experience tango in our Twin Cities, we have milongas every weekend, special tango occasions like festivals, tango workshops, daily tango classes, a tango opera, live tango music, potluck practicas, dancing on the waves and now, finally we can also bring you: QUEER TANGO.
All these events are for people who enjoy dancing and having an experience with other people. To embrace the art of the tango, the listening to a partner and exploring the possibilities of creative movement on the dance floor.
Share the love, the moments! One embrace at a time.

See  you in class or on the dance floor
