[TSOM-Announce] Argentina's Bicentennial Celebration

Hola tangueros,

This is just a reminder that this Saturday, July 9th Argentina celebrates its 200 years of Independence from the Spanish rule, and we have 2 big celebrations: during the day at Boom Island Park in Minneapolis and the traditional TSoM milonga after 9:30pm at the Triune Masonic Temple in St. Paul.

Sat, July 9th - from 11am until sunset

Argentine dance & music from all decades. Games and activities for the whole family throughout the day.

1:30pm-2:30pm: Tango lesson and guided practica by Lois Donnay.

3:30pm-5pm: dance lesson: traditional dances from Argentina by Paulino Brener (chacarera and more!)

5pm-6pm: tango lesson and guided practica by Sabine Ibes.

6pm-Sunset: Fiesta Argentina - Argentina music from all ages, pop, rock nacional, tango, folk, cumbia, cuarteto...

About food - you may buy food or snacks at:

Del Sur Empanadas - Food truck.

Praline Platense (traditional Argentine recipe for frosted nuts)

Criollas (authentic alfajores de maicena)

Option: bring your own food and snacks, for yourself or to share.  You may also use the parks' BBQs, just remember to bring what you need (charcoal and meat).

This is a FREE and family friendly event with the idea of promoting Argentine tango.  Please invite friends and family and join us so we can have a good crowd to dance tango!
