Argentina's Bicentennial Independence Celebration in the Twin Cities
This year Argentina celebrates 200 years of independence from Spanish rule!
TSoM and Bataclan Tango are holding the first Argentine Mini-Festival in the Twin Cities and want to invite the community to join in. There will be plenty of music and dancing, FREE TANGO lessons, traditional Argentine dances and more!

When: July 9th, 2016. From 11am-9pm
Where: Boom Island Park, Minneapolis
Cost: Free (please donate $5 to help us cover costs)
Program:
1:30pm-2:30: Tango lesson by Lois Donnay & guided practica
3:30pm-5pm: dance lesson: traditional dances from Argentina by Paulino Brener (chacarera and more)
5pm-6pm: Tango lesson by Sabine Ibes & guided practica
6pm-7:30pm: Milonga campestre (with truco y mateada on the side)
9:30pm-1am: complete the celebration with TSoM 2nd Saturday milonga, at Triune Masonic Temple in St. Paul.
Food:
"Del Sur Empanadas" food truck from 12pm: the only authentic Argentine empanadas that you can buy in the Twin Cities. They also have chimichurri and lomitos!
"Praline Platense" with traditional Argentine recipe for frosted nuts
Or you may want to use the park's BBQs. There are 3 shelters, each one with big bbqs, just remember to bring what you need for cooking!
