Upcoming:  Susana Miller week May 12 to 19! All new classes! Susana has put more great dancers on the floors of Buenos Aires than any other teacher. She is legendary. Get more information on the website. mndance.com/SusanaMillerworkshop  Get in on the discounts - get your money in before May 1st.

Classes: Yes, we are working on volcadas! Not really so hard, once you get the essence and the importance of the shared axis. You can do so much when you understand this fundamental tango concept! Saturday 10:00AM is still a beginning class, even though the students are getting quite good.  Thursday 7:30 class:  Here is where we get intensive, and you get lots of personal attention. A follower I danced with asked me "Can you just teach all the men to dance like you?" My secret? It's not the moves you know, but the way you do them. We work on common move, but made it so fun!  Come to class and let me show you.  Remember that all my classes are in close embrace, starting right from the beginning, because that is how tango is danced. We don't teach an open embrace - that may lead you into bad habits that have to be corrected. You'll just have to start over when you move to close embrace, and open embrace can easily be learned later, once you understand close. The best results come from learning tango in close embrace, right away. The proof is in the great dancers that have started with me this way! Curious about close embrace? Come and try it!
Private lessons? The only way to get at the specific problems and fix them. Call to schedule.

Tuesday Party: Tuesday Party is heating up!  We often welcome new people, and out of town visitors. Come and play with us!

Musings: Buenos Aires milongas often have a tanda of "Rock and Roll". I remember that back about 10 years ago, the music that they would play for this set was not exactly what a North American would find acceptable for a swing dance. They would play things like the Beatles "She Loves You (yeah yeah yeah)", or "Karma chameleon". We would get a kick out of this - so superior were we in our knowledge of swing music. Since then, the Buenos Aires DJ's have gotten much better at selecting good, danceable swing songs. And, of course, our tango musicality has improved markedly. It is still a challenge, this tango music so unfamiliar to us (with the exception of my Argentine students!). But interpreting the music is what tango is about. That's why, in every class, we make sure everything we learn fits the floor, and we find the best place to use it within the music. Make sure you take care to do that, too!

Time to plan for 2016! The next trip will be in November to December. Want to go with us to Buenos Aires this fall? We'll be going in November, and I'll be staying for about a month. Stay with us in our house - It's a party every day! You can arrive whenever you like, and stay for as long as you like. Let me know if you want more details.  I need to know by the end of May if you want to be a part of our party, and I need a deposit by July. - Tour price is based on double room occupancy. I have been going to Buenos Aires  since 1999, and leading trips yearly. Many of the people who have come with me are going every year now! It's so much fun!
