Classes this Week: This week and next, we are working on dynamics and turns. Augusto will stop in to help, so that he can take over the classes seamlessly while I am in Buenos Aires. Good news - he is reducing the prices of the classes to $10 while he is taking them over! They will still be 80-90 minute classes, as always. Then, December 1st, Ernest Williams will be here, teaching all the classes and also giving privates. Plus, he will have 2 special workshops on the first and second Saturday. Ernest has taught tango nationally and internationally, conducting workshops, seminars and/or dance exhibitions in Richmond, Charlotte, D.C., Baltimore, Philadelphia, NYC, Buffalo, Cleveland, Nashville, St. Louis, Chicago, Milwaukee, Albuquerque, San Francisco, Honolulu and is teaching at BurningTango in 2016. He has also taught several intensive tango and milonga seminars in Montevideo, Uruguay and Buenos Aires, Argentina during his 6-month residency in the region. Tuesday Party: Always a fun time, a great way to get to know fellow dancers and sample some tasty treats. This week - we will gladly help you with any of those pesky Halloween treat leftovers. Bring 'em over! 9PM, after the lessons Krung Thep Thai milonga time!! Wed, Nov 4th Yes, it is the first Wednesday, and that means you can get your fix of Coconut Soup, Curry, Pad Thai and tango, all in one night! Arrive early so you can finish eating and still get in lots of dancing. I am going to try to arrive by 6:30, so if you are first, you can dance with me!. The best tables go early, too. Lots of fun! 7:00 to 9:30, perfect for those who say "The tango dances are always so late..." $5, free for students. This Weekend's Events and Milongas: This weekend Friday is a milonga at Four Seasons. Saturday there is no milonga (what a tragedy!), so be sure to get your fill on Wed, and Fri, and Sunday at the Loring Pasta Bar. Upcoming: Saturday, November 14th: Workshop on Nailing the Endings. Tango music has great, dramatic endings, so don't throw those away! In this workshop, we will learn how to predict and dance the endings of the songs. Exercises and tricks, cool moves and poses. 1:30, Held at Center for Performing Arts, 38th and Pleasant, Mpls. |
