This weekend is the big
Woodland Hills Winery tango event! Takes two to Tango!!
Saturday, July 18th 6:00- 8:00PM (There is another September 19th)
Join us for a evening of Tango and wine, at one of the most beautiful wineries in Minnesota.
Price: Free, or $30.00 per person if you do the Wine tasting, which includes glasses of wine and appetizers. The wine tasting is a fun and educational opportunity to help you learn more about wine in general, and about the wines made at the winery specifically.
I'll give a short tango lesson/comedy routine, and then start the milonga. You are welcome to just come, buy your wine by the glass and join in the lesson and dance. Several people are planning to come early, wander around the lovely grounds and have a picnic. Carpooling is a great idea. We can dance outside or inside.
Call for a reservation if you want to join the winetasting. 763-972-4000
Then, Next Week on Wed. July 29th, 7:30, we will dance tango outside at the Piazza on the Mall, a big wood deck on 13th and Nicollet in downtown Minneapolis, after the band Detroit Don King performs. This is a beautiful space and a great way to share our love of tango with the public! I am trying to get an empanada vendor there. Or you can pack a picnic. There are tables with umbrellas, and of course lots of restaurants and vendors close by.
piazzaonthemall Sponsored by the Musicant Group. Free!
First Wednesdays at Krung Thep: Thai Milonga! August 5th. It's getting better all the time, thanks to all of your support. Music starts at 7, but come early for the best tables and to finish eating so we can dance with you. 2523 Nicollet Ave S. $5
Tuesday Party: Relaxed, fun, welcoming atmosphere, good food, good friends. We have been going until midnight regularly lately. I know, you have to work in the morning, but it is not my fault that you are having so much fun you can't leave. Tuesday at 9, after the lessons.
Private Lessons: Crash Course still available! 5 lessons, one week, extreme imporovements in your dance. I see a lot of poor basics on the floor - many that could be easily fixed with some personal attention from an experienced teacher. Do you need a tango tuneup? Sometimes it can be painful to realize this, especially after you have been dancing for years, but it shouldn't be. Even the best need continuing education!
Classes this Week: Musings: Are you a good sharer? When you have found something really good, do you tell your friends? People have such a good time in our tango scene, many keep my card or my
"Free Lesson" coupon, with them at all times to give to their friends. Not everyone bites, but those that do will always be grateful to the one who told them. We have some free, public events coming up - now is the time to invite them! Yes, I know that you will be dancing and abandoning them all the time, but here's an idea - sit at a group table, and introduce them to a lot of people. There are so many cool people in the tango community, and they are really interesting to talk to - they will help your cause!
