Dahl Dance Center presents Argentine Tango Weekend with Adrian Veredice

June 26th - 29th, 2015

We are very excited to welcome Adrian Verdice to Minnesota for the first time!

He brings and elegance and clarity to teaching Argentine Tango that is unmatched, read more about him and his beautiful wife below....

DANCERS, CHOREOGRAPHERS AND MASTERS OF TANGO ARGENTINO, ADRIAN AND ALEJANDRA HAVE BEEN A COUPLE SINCE 1998. THEY RAPIDLY BECAME ONE OF THE MOST RECOGNIZED COUPLES OF ARGENTINE TANGO OF OUR TIME.THEIR IMPRESSIVE SCENIC INTERPRETATION AND EXPRESSIVE CAPACITY ARE RECEIVED WITH ENTHUSIASM IN THEATERS AND STAGES WORLDWIDE.THEY WERE PROTAGONISTS OF THE MOST IMPORTANT AND ACCLAIMED INTERNATIONAL TANGO FESTIVALS OF THE LAST YEARS (IN CITIES SUCH AS BERLIN, ROME, LONDON, PARIS, LISBON, ATHENS, ISTANBUL, SAO PABLO, DUBAI, CHICAGO, SITGES, MOSCOW, KUALA LUMPUR , TAIPEI, CATANIA, SAN JUAN DE PUERTO RICO, BRUSSELS, MONTREAL AND OTHERS). SINCE 2002 THEY HAVE ALSO BEEN PRINCIPAL TEACHERS OF THE C.I.T.A. (TANGO ARGENTINO INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS) AND THE WORLD DANCE CHAMPIONSHIPS ORGANIZED BY THE WORLD DANCE COUNCIL BETWEEN 2003 TO 2010 THEY WERE CHOREOGRAPHERS AND THE PRINCIPLE COUPLE OF THE „OTANGO" & „CINCOTANGO" WHICH WERE HIGHLY SUCCESSFUL IN EUROPE. ADRIAN AND ALEJANDRA HAVE ALSO SHARED STAGE EVENTS AND SHOWS WITH FAMOUS ORCHESTRAS SUCH AS EL SEXTETO MAYOR, COLOR TANGO, EL ARRANQUE, LOS REYES DEL TANGO AND SEXTETO CANYENGUE. IN 2012 - 2013 and 2014 WERE CALLED AS TEACHERS AND MEMBERS OF THE JURY´S WORLD TANGO CHAMPIONSHIP IN BUENOS AIRES IN THE CATEGORIES OF TANGO STAGE AND TANGO SALON.

11 am - 12:30 pm: Giros and Contragiros - Paradas & Enrosques - Intermediate
12:45 pm - 2:15 pm: MILONGA: Rhythmic Variations / Rotation and Translation - All levels
2:30 pm - 4 pm Sequences in Close Embrace /  Milonguero Style - Intermediate

Saturday evening we will get together at the home of David and Michelle Kallmes for a potluck and casual tango dancing in their beautiful home (please bring your preferred drink and an easy bite to share:)

noon - 1:30 pm: Boleos and Ganchos - Intermediate/Adv
1:45 pm - 3:15 pm: VALS: Giros - Cadenas & Impulse of turn - All levels
3:30pm - 5 pm:  Colgadas and Volcadas / Playing with the axis - Intermediate /Adv

Registration will be capped so register early and save your spot on the dance floor!

*All Levels classes are designed for dancers who have a working knowledge of tango walks, cruzada, and forward and back and ochos. This weekend is not for new tango dancers who are just starting out. Dancers considering the advanced classes should not have any hip or ankle injuries that limit their ability to balance. If you are really eager to jump in and want to take classes that might be a bit ahead of you, we ask that you bring a partner who you practice regularly with and stay with that person during class rotations.
