Classes this Week: All classes are on as usual. I have so much to show you! I have brought back lots of great stuff from Buenos Aires, and I am determined to get the Minnesota Tango community on the right track to being one of the best in the country. Come and help me do it!
Tuesday Party: Tuesday the 17th at 9, after the lessons a special Tuesday. It's a Tangueria! We will have Argentine treats from my BA trip - alfajores, dulce de leche, Malbec, even some Fernet. Come and shop in the boutique, get the first look at the shoes, clothes and other goodies, and dance with us.
Weekend Workshop Saturday Dec 21st: Update on Buenos Aires: I am always surprised by the misconceptions about what is going on in tango in Buenos Aires. As the Tango Mecca, it is important, and fascinating, to know what is new, what is traditional, what is considered important, what is changing and what never changes. Anyone who feels that the essence of tango is important will want to attend this workshop. If it has been awhile since you have been to BA, come to get your spirit back. (You know what I mean) 12:30 Saturday, $20.
Milonga Baile Ruso Russian Milonga: St. Petersburg Restaurant, 7:30 lesson, 8: dance. Elegant space, close to downtown, full bar (and vodka bar!), great martinis, wood floor, Russian inspired food. I received more good comments about this place than any other, including someone who said it was her favorite milonga EVER! Lesson at 7:30 (invite your friends!) and dance from 8:30 until midnight. Huge, free parking lot. St.Petersburg Restaurant, 3610 France Av. N, Robbinsdale 55422, Lesson at 7:30, dance 8 to 12a, $6-8.
Private Lessons: I am still teaching through the holiday season. Call me to schedule! And don't forget Gift Certificates for your friends.
Upcoming: Silver and Gold New Year's Eve:
Dinner, DJ'd tango dancing, (swing and salsa sets, too), New Years Eve countdown, champagne toast at midnight, hats and noisemakers, and wonderful tango dances. You are invited to dress in your fanciest! Silver and/or gold especially admired!
$20 (Milonga only, starts at 10:30PM ) to $40 (with dinner). After December 27th, dance is $25 and dinner and dance is $45. Student discount is half off.
Dinner buffet (including vegetarian and gluten-free options) starts at 7:30. Music will be playing throughout dinner. That's over 5 hours of dancing!
What else?
During dinner and throughout the evening, artists will recite some of the most beautiful tango lyrics.
Several dance mixers (similar to waterfalls)
Definitely not for couples only - singles welcome.
