| | Discussion this Week: This week in socially distancing classes, we will be joined by Florencia Taccetti! Florencia is a renowned tango teacher, and taught here in Minnesota for many years. Florencia is well-known as a tango performer, social dancer and teacher,and has done extensive work as a contemporary dance performer. She was a dancer in the tango movie Tango Bar. She currently teaches in Buenos Aires at various venues, including Salon Canning, Academia Nacional del Tango and Escuela Mundial de Tango. She will join us for a discussion of how she is teaching now, and we'll talk of memories of her time in Minnesota anong many other things!

Musings: It's hard to believe, but I have been involved with Argentine Tango for around 25 years now. You would think that I was just about as filled with knowledge as a person could be by this time, but there is still so much to learn. I remember watching a documentary back maybe 15 years ago about the old milongueros, and in it one of them says "I've been dancing tango for about 50 years now, and I think I am finally beginning to understand it." I thought at the time "50 years!?!? It can't possibly take that long to understand tango!!" But now I believe that it does. Every time I listen to an old favorite tango song, I hear something new, something that I hadn't noticed before. Every time I dance, I find a new way to express what I'm hearing and feeling, and I learn something from my partner about what they are hearing and feeling. And I realize that I will probably never be finished. There's no end to it. And aren't we ever the lucky ones to have found something that gives so much, in such massive abundance. | | |  Tango Boutique! Clothes, shoes and accessories for the dancer.
