[TSOM-Announce] Fwd: Tango & I knows tango, do you? February newsletter

Tango as part of something bigger in life?

We all start dancing tango for various reasons, and then stay, or leave for, most of the time, completely different reasons.  I have heard about, and deeply felt, the change in ones life because dance, or maybe more importantly, Argentine Tango, gave a different perspective on us as human beings.  To deepen your listening to what it is that your body is doing, and needs to feel. Or to open your mind to new ideas and expand your horizons by a creative and, steeped in culture, dance with a partner. To be able to freely hug and be close to another human being, can bring a deep joy. And, the moments where we are able to find that "zone"  your thoughts one with your body, floating in space.   Not to mention a brand new reason to travel, to excel, to study, to work out, to learn a new language, to pick up an instrument, start singing, acquire a new outfit and shoes!    We can all use some mindful moments in our daily activities, you can practice mindfulness in any moment. Just set an intention to pay attention and allow the moment to unfold.   Try it when: eating, dancing, washing dishes, listening to music, gardening, driving, being in nature, listening to a teacher, looking at yourself in the mirror at dance class.
In this newsletter you will find new ways to learn and new ways to excel, new ways to plan for your summer, and reasons to have fun.

Tango on everybody,
Warmly,  Sabine Ibes

TANGO TRAVEL ANYONE?

Sabine Ibes was born, and grew up in the Netherlands, in a little village close to Nijmegen. Nijmegen, where the famous El Corte is located; one of the very first Argentine tango schools in the world!
Sabine would love to share her home town with you. And take you to other cities as well, like Amsterdam (obviously) and some very unknown smaller towns too!

During the summer El Corte organizes a 5 day Tango festival.
El Corte invites you you to create your own summer Tango festival during Summerdaze. With many Tango events in the Arnhem/Nijmegen tango area, the lazy days of August are the perfect time for a do-it-yourself, low-cost, Tango 'festival.'

The 5 days of Summerdaze events include workshops, outdoor dances and free or inexpensive milongas at a variety of venues in the region. Check the evolving schedule and enjoy a laid back, Tango festival that suits your interests and Tango desires.

The DJ Playground
is an essential part of the Summerdaze. Experienced DJs will get the chance to experiment and new DJs will spread their wings to an appreciative and discerning audience of dancers. Interested in joining?

In April Sabine will host a Netherlands party: to provide you with all the information that she has at that point.  She would love to know if you have an intrest in this trip, so she can keep you updated.   Email her here
