Regular Public Dances

Saturday Oct 12 at 1:00  Chacarera, Canyengue, Zamba Workshop. Workshop in the other Argentine music dances that are popular in the milongas of Buenos Aires, sometimes called Folkloric. Now that they are commonly played here, you don't want to have to sit them out. If you are going to Buenos Aires, knowing these dances will go a long way towards showing the milongueros that you are knowledgeable, and serious about tango.

Does the Chacarera look like a lot of fun? Want to understand the musical nuances of the Canyengue? CUrious about the subtle and beautiful seduction messages in the Zamba and other dances? These other dances are a lot of fun to learn, and we'll have a great time.

Even if you don't choose to dance these, understanding them as well as the music will be an invaluable help to your tango, vals and milonga. This music, and these dances, are some of the roots of tango, and will really help to improve your musicality and the beauty of your dance.  They will also help you to solve some questions you may be working on in tango: walking, the embrace, posture, attitude, poses and other fundamentals that came from these dances into tango.

Tuesday Milonga: Always a fun time! Our theme this week is Hats and Fascinators. Or Fascinating Hats. Or headpieces, sombreros, caps, crowns, berets and/or other assorted millinery. Hats on to tango!. Next week: Power of the Shoulder. All things on (or off) your shoulders.  9PM, after the lessons  You see how much fun we have in our Facebook pictures - why not join us?

Classes this Week: This week  we are working on those great ocho cortado moves. So useful, so interesting, so fun and easy! Yet, I often get guys who tell me that follower's don't quite understand them. This could be because it is challenging to stay close and connected when you are stepping between partners, or it could be the invitation is not there. Either way, we'll see if we can fix it, plus add some extra interest to your dance. Thursday class is lots of work, but so much fun. Let me know if you feel ready for the challenge.

Private Lessons:  Essential. There are just some things that you cannot get in a group lesson. Some people try to do without private lessons - and it can be obvious who those are. Privates are essential f you want to excel.
