Hola tangueros,
Friday May 25th, 1810 in Buenos Aires: Revolución de Mayo
Friday May 25th, 2018 in Minneapolis: Milonga Mala Yunta
May 25th for Argentineans is as important as July 9th. Starting on May 18th, every year Argentina celebrates la Semana de Mayo, a sequence of events that in 1810 triggered the May Revolution, or Revolución de Mayo, which helped Argentina achieve its independence from Spain. This day marks the creation of the Primera Junta, a local authority formed entirely of members of the Buenos Aires society, taking over the governance of Buenos Aires from the Spanish Viceroyalty. We celebrate the first gobierno criollo.
Join us to celebrate one of the most traditional Argentine Holidays with a milonga Buenos Aires' style.
