Classes: I'm back from teaching in Puerto Vallarta! February is Milonga Month, with great insights to this very fun and important dance.
Milonga is fun and easy, and people who start out during milonga month have a higher percentage of success learning tango. Great for leaders because the step is simple so you can focus on the embrace, music, posture and walk. Great for followers because the time for anticipation is reduced, and you can really feel the connection. Are you sitting out milongas because you're not comfortable? That's a shame! It's so fun! Even if you are not a beginner, you might want to take the beginner class to get a refresher on the music and style. In intermediate we'll take the steps you know up a notch. It's not just getting the footwork right-give it that zing! In Advanced on Thursday - well, that is really going to be a challenge. New moves, new concepts from Buenos Aires. Saturday, Feb 17th at 5:30: Passionate Tango workshop: I am repeating by request one of my most popular workshops. Passionate Tango is about getting the most feeling out of this dance: really tune in to your partner. We will work on quieting our minds, absorbing each other and sinking into a deep connection. How will we do that? Exercises, touches, soul work, synchronizing, wordless communication, exploring automatic responses - it's going to be kind of exciting! Let's allow the elitism of "tango for the audience" go, and bring in the beauty of "one heart, four legs". Everyone longs for the kind of deeply connected tango that we work to find here. What makes tango different from so many other dances is the constant sharing with our partners. We are sharing our bodies, our thoughts, our affection, our talents, and our energy. We work hard to make sure that our technique in tango is as good as possible, but don't neglect the passion. Wine included. This class is not limited to couples! Everyone is invited! Upcoming: Workshops with Oscar Casas! Oscar will be back the first week of April. It's going to be an excellent weekend. Oscar teaches in a clear, relevant style, and everything he teaches works for the floor. He offers tips and insights that work and are easy to remember and implement right away. You will definitely leave with an enhanced ability for tango.

Tuesday Party: Tuesday at 9, after the lessons. It's a great idea - after working so hard at a lesson, you get to hang out with your fellow students, have something to eat and drink, try out what you learned on the dancefloor, and meet others from the tango community. Come and hang out with us!
