| | | Classes: We are turning our attention to turns. A new student said, after his first milonga "people don't seem to go anywhere!" Yes, without a nice arsenal of turns, your dance will be stuck. Especially useful in vals! Thursday Advanced, it'll be lots of secadas - the "leggy things" that followers seem to enjoy so much. They add energy to our turns! Canyengue Workshop: 2:00PM to 4PM Saturday, Oct 25th People still ask me "what is Canyengue? Is it that line dance?" If you've been dancing tango for any time and you still don't know, you should find out what else they dance in Buenos Aires milongas. It will enhance your knowledge of tango culture and history, as well as help you to understand the music better, hence understand tango better. And of course it is fun! There are Canyengue dancers in the Twin Cities who would like partners to play with. ;) We'll also try to cover Chacarera and Zamba, Essential if you are planning a trip to Buenos Aires. Private Lessons: In order to learn tango, you need a mix of group and private lessons. Private lessons with an experienced teacher are invaluable to addressing your specific needs. Winter Tango Encuentro! Winter Tango festival in Mobile, Alabama the second weekend of January, 2015. You'll need to get away by then, right? Specials for booking now. This will be a very milonga intensive festival - lots of great, truly dedicated dancers from all over.
