Sunday---September 2nd---ROGUE TANGO plays at the EAGLES from 7 to 10pm with another hour of DJed tango afterwards.

Eagles 34  address is:  2507 East 25th st in Mpls. Free parking, awesome dance floor, inexpensive and good food and drinks.

The musical lineup is also excellent:  Bob Barnes (bandoneon), Jay Stotsky (piano), Tom Lewis (bass), Scott Mateo (guitar).

$10 admission works out to be a great value with all the amenities!

[TSOM-Announce] Fernanda Ghi workshops in Minneapolis

Hola Tangueros, 

Most of you probably remember Fernanda Ghi from last year, and many of you from many years ago...  well, for those who don't know, she was the choreographer of last year's production of Maria de Buenos Aires.

Fernanda will be available for teaching from September 27 - October 1, 2018.

Master Class for Followers: Adornments
For women only.Focus on embellishments: what, how, when, where…Creativity and playfulness on the dance floor.Level: must feel comfortable with the basic and be able to balance on 1 leg.

Master Class for Leaders: Mechanics in Giros
Class focused on leaders (men or women).NOTE: This is for leaders only, however each leader must come with a partner at no extra cost for the follower. If you switch roles with your partner, then both need to pay as leaders.Level: for experienced leaders. Must be able to navigate the dance floor at a milonga.

Intensive: Impulsos en el Tango
Body mechanics, couple dynamics, communication.A total of 5 hours of intense work spread in 2 days (2.5 hours each day).This is for a reduced group so Fernanda will work with each individual to create impulse and translate it into tango vocabulary. Tango is not about force or memorizing a set of steps, it's about harnessing organic impulse and movement with your partner and with the music.You will have time to practice and internalize what you learned.Level: this intensive is for tango dancers with experience.Fernanda suggests that you come with a partner who is working at a similar level.

Come out Wednesday, August 29th at 10, 11 and 12 and dance, support, encourage bystanders and tell them what fun tango is. Let's help more people learn about this fascinating dance, and maybe give it a try! We will dance, perform, demonstrate and explain more about tango and its benefits, and hand out some coupons for dances and lessons. We are trying to wear red, black and white for a coordinated look. KARE-TV will stop by, so we will get even more exposure. Don't miss it!   Black Dog Cafe MILONGA Friday, August 31: We had such a great time at this venue last time, they have invited us to return!  CLASS: 7:00pm - 7:30pm class: Dancing like a Milonguero - the Embrace (All levels) Bring a new person. Come and help out at the class. The class is FREE! (milonga $10) The Black Dog Cafe has wonderful food, a great selection of beer and wine, and great entertainment. They have a cool event area with a great vibe where the dance will be held, with a big wood floor. They also have live music in the adjacent room! Come out and join us at this well-attended milonga. Black Dog Cafe, 308 East Prince Street, Saint Paul, Parking nearby in several lots, or there is limited street parking. $10  Tuesday Milonga: Always a fun time, it's been particularly fun as we wind down the summer. I don't know what's bringing so many fun people to the Tuesday party lately, but it's sure great. This weeks theme is State Fair, bring or wear something that reminds you of the Great MN Get-together. 9PM every Tuesday    September 15th: The Northfield Public Library its celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month on Saturday September 15th from 11 am – 4 pm. They will have music, dance, food, crafts and a lot of fun for the whole family. They have asked us to demonstrate Argentine Tango at 1:30PM  Please consider coming to help! Classes this Week: Last week of milonga/vals month! We didn't really even get through all I would have liked to, but we got really far. My intention is to transition now to vals, and we started that a little on Saturday. We'll continue on more vals, with maybe some reviews of milonga. This will be an important week, as we will wrap up and solidify a lot of what we have worked so hard to learn this month.  Tango Boutique! Clothes, shoes and accessories for the dancer.  Clothes that fit, stay on, have color, flow beautifully, with real style.  And great prices! Shoes from $40 to $150, including some great values in preowned.  All clothes under $100. Come and shop during parties and get an unbiased opinion from seasoned tango dancers. :) Buenos Aires! Time to plan for 2018 if you want to go on my tour! The 2018 trip will be in November to December. Pick the dates that work for you and let me know so I can arrange housing. I'll need to know for sure, with a deposit, by the end of August 2018. Limited space is available, so that I can give you the attention you deserve. We have so much fun! We'll start with a lesson at 7 off to the side for new people, while you dance. Sea Salt restaurant has wonderful food and great wine, open until 9, but get there early - lines can be long. Rain or shine - the pavilion keeps us safe and dry if necessary, or dance under the stars with the roar of the falls as a backdrop. The pavilion floor is easy on the shoes. Come with friends and family, alone or with someone special! Romantic, but still kid-friendly. I love this event, even though it's quite a challenge to put on. Oh, that reminds me - volunteers to set up are always appreciated! Please help!! $10. Sea Salt Minnehaha Falls, 4801 Minnehaha Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55417 Argentine Tango at the Minnesota State Fair! We have been invited to demonstrate Argentine tango at the State Fair! Learn more about this fascinating dance, including the history, culture and roots dating back to the Golden Age of Tango in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
