Dear tangueros, It is with a profound sadness that we share with you that Marisa Reviere passed away last Thursday, Oct 1st, 2020. She was at her home, as it was her wish, with the love and awesome care of her daughter. Her dog Mayi and few of her closest friends were also along with her and she passed peacefully. Marisa will be greatly missed by many of us, as she was such an inspiration for our tango community. She shared her house, hosting many out of town teachers, organizing events, providing her ideas, suggestions, opinions to so many projects! She shared her love for food whenever she had the opportunity, we all remember her famous flan, which in our opinion, it's the best in the world. She was an avid promoter of women leading in tango (as well as in many other areas) and came up with Muñecas Bravas, a group for women learning to lead in tango, which Janeen Rae actively put together! She was so authentic and loved tango so much, with a special passion for milongas and candombe! She was and will continue to be the Gran Bataclana of our Bataclan Tango group! Please feel free to check the FB group Muñeca de Arrabal in MN and share memories (stories and/or pictures) you have about her, or simple share your sentiment. There will be no Memorial because that was her wish. However, as soon as we are able, sometime when the Covid-19 situation is over, we'll celebrate her life with music, dance, tango, milonga and of course, candombe! Gracias! Bataclan | | |
