Musings: Christmas is the season of giving, but tango dancers don't need a season or a holiday in order to be giving. Tango dancers are used to giving, every time they dance. Dancing with someone means giving someone the gift of your attention, your musicality, your acceptance, and your trust. With every dance, we give our touch, our connection, and we do all we can to make another feel beautiful, comfortable and appreciated. Off the floor we bring these gifts to people in our community, too. Christmas is also for family. We are your other family, whether you know it or not. Many of us (including me) have been blessed with an outpouring of love from our tango family at some of our most difficult times. So to all of us in the tango family. I wish us all the merriest of holidays.
