Yes, for the whole month of August, we will be concentrating on the dance Milonga, in all classes. Not as comfortable with milonga as you want to be? Feel your milonga is a little "tired"? New to tango and need to learn more and get comfortable with the embrace? Come and get a big dose of milonga technique all this month. Dancing milonga well is essential for both leaders and followers. And - it's so easy when you do it right! Georg Schopf spent last weekend in San Diego teaching, but he's back now! He will take over the Thursday advanced lesson, where I've asked him to concentrate on Milonga. Call if you would like to register for the class (7:30), or if you would like a private.We may see if we can arrange some workshops this weekend as well. Private Lessons: It's essential to get quality private instruction in order to really "own" your technique. It is really worth it - in the private lessons you'll get information that is structured just for you, and will cement what you are learning in class so that you get it - and KEEP it. This week you can also get a lesson with Georg. Call me to arrange. Tuesday Party: Every Tuesday at 9, after the lessons, we dance, eat, talk and have fun. This is the best place to come if you are just starting out, because you can really get to know people. Everyone welcome! 9PM, $5 suggested contribution The Minnesota State Fair!  We have been invited to share our love of tango at the State Fair again this year!  Saturday, August  Saturday 8/26, at 6:30 PM. This also happens to be the night that the salsa band, Charango Tropical, will perform at the International Bazaar stage. Please let me know as soon as possible if you would like to help. The next Victor's milonga will be the last Thursday in August, August 31st. Starts at 7:30 with a lesson, dance, drink, party and eat until 10:30. Victor's on Water St, 205 Water Street, Excelsior, MN   Tango Boutique! Clothes, shoes and accessories for the dancer.  Clothes that fit, stay on, have color, flow beautifully, with real style.  And great prices! Shoes from $40 to $150, including some great values in preowned.  All clothes under $100. Come and shop during parties and get an unbiased opinion from seasoned tango dancers. :) Buenos Aires! The  The next trip will be trip is full! But you can think about next year.  Pick the dates that work for you and let me know so I can arrange housing. I'll need to know for sure, with a deposit, by the first of August. Limited space is available, so that I can give you the attention you deserve. Guess whose coming to Minnesota ......   August Classes   View this email in your browser Diana Devi  Tango Devi  August Edition                        August  This month brings the partial eclipse to Minnesota, part of the sun will be seen part will be hidden, seems like the perfect opportunity to study drags!  The technique behind the drag is unseen.  The part that we see is the connection at the foot.  HINT the foot is not leading the movement!     Want to know more about the allure of drags?  Join us on Thursday night at 7pm!  No it's not be your Mama's drags!   Developing Your Tango Body series 8pm.  We are going to look at how we stack our body from ground up.   This month focusing on being stacked allows us to move a leg in an embellishment of as part of a pattern without disturbing our partner   The question for this month is ..... Should I care about my head ?   The tendency is to look at the floor when leading or following a drag.  We will explore when and how to look during a drag.   ( and maybe some other places too!)       It looks obvious when you look at     the picture.  You are creating     stress in your lower back in the         first figure or in the second figure       both the lower back and the neck       in the second figure.    *     See the stress on the body in            figure 1.   It is difficult to dance          if you bend at the waist, your head    pitched forward.    The second figure you see is              standing straight.  Nice position of      the body.  This position works for        turns!   It will hard to turn and be        balanced if you head is leaning            forward.  * ( * for complete article see http://www.tangoandchaos.org/chapt_6school/5posture.htm )  Guess who is coming to town in September?
