We had 83 dancers at the February TSoM Milonga

and 67 at the 5th Saturday Milonga on April 30

[TSOM-Announce] The anhilation of gravity via Guillermo y Diana

Dear Dancing Friends,

 

The Tango gods have spoken:

No longer will gravity be the irrevocable law of the dance floor.  For those Desperados in attendance on Monday, this law will be suspended!  (At least briefly)

Guillermo y Diana have been entrusted to convey two incredible weapons that release us from the unremitting pull of Terra Matar: Levity and Colgadas!

For those of us who have never tried them, they have a reputation for being enormously fun and a bit difficult. 

We’re betting Guillermo and Diana will show them to be more fun and more accessible than you’ve ever seen them. 

Join us this Monday for a super-teacher-taster and get some new arrows for your tango quiver.

PS. We have suspended mini-beginni lessons for the summer. But if you have a small group of interested neophytes, we will happily arrange on a one-off basis. Just give us a week or two notice.  Tango is too good not to share it, and it disappears if you don’t!

[TSOM-Announce] Fund raiser for Viktoria Sears

There will be a fundraiser to benefit Viktoria Sears during the Saturday, June 11th Tango Society milonga at the Triune Masonic Temple on 1898 Iglehart Ave, St Paul, MN 55104. We'll be holding a silent auction for works of art, blocks of private tango lessons, personal services and more.

Donations are now being accepted and we will be collecting items for auction at Dave Rost's Milonga En El Alma this Saturday, June 4th at Four Seasons dance studio at 1637 Hennepin Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55403. If you would like to offer a service to auction, please contact Chris Briscoe at see.the.art@gmail.com.

Looks to to be nice cool day on Saturday, perfect for tango.

Join me Saturday night, June 4,  in downtown Minneapolis for a night of Argentine Tango at Four Seasons Dance Studio. Relax in an inviting, bohemian atmosphere and dance to the classic tangos of the Golden Age. Although there is no lesson beforehand, beginners are welcome.

Light snacks, wine and soft drinks are available. Feel free to BYOB.
