[TSOM-Announce] No Tango Party Friday night at Four Seasons Dance

Due to a previous booking we will have to cancel this Friday night's tango party at Four Seasons Dance. Please help us spread the word to the tango community that this Friday only, Micheal Cordner's "Puro Tango" will not take place as usual. This event will resume at it's regular time next month.

Our studio will host a special Blues dance event this weekend. Dance parties to take place Friday , Saturday, and Sunday nights at our venue. If you are curious, please stop by! Friday night's party will feature live music starting at 830pm. More information can be found at North Star Blues 2015.

[TSOM-Announce] Milonga Caliente on hiatus

Hi everyone, please be advised that we at UTango have decided to suspend our Milonga Caliente event on the third Saturday of each month.  This will allow us to better focus on delivering our revamped schedule of lessons in the club's new space at the Recreation & Wellness Center on campus.

Don't despair, however -- we'll be looking at putting together a set of more informal tango-themed social events as the semester progresses, based on feedback from our members.  It's also our goal to organize a grand milonga at the Rec for our students as well as the greater tango community, so there will still be great opportunities to join UTango for some tandas on the dance floor going forward!

We had such a great time doing this last time, I asked if we could do it again. We will be dancing outdoors on the lovely Piazza on the Mall, downtown Minneapolis, 13th and Nicollet Ave. S. This time we are going to be treated to live music with Bob Barnes! Bring your friends and dance on the lovely wood deck. We'll also have some mini dance lessons.  Beside the Wesminister Church, 1221 Nicollet Mall S., 2 blocks south of Peavey Plaza. I am teaching a Blues Dance lesson at Cafe Bailar Saturday Sept 12th. The lesson is from 7:30-8:30 pm. The dance follows the lesson from 8:30-11:30 pm. A variety of Ballroom and Latin music is played to suit these popular styles of dance: Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Rumba, Cha-Cha, Salsa, East and West Coast Swing, Hustle, Night Club 2-Step, Bolero, and more!  $9 for Cafe Bailar Dance Club members, $12 for guests.5808 R W. 36th Street, St. Louis Park, (back entrance) Private Lessons: Very important!  Tango will take too long to learn if you try to learn only with group lessons, or worse, you will waste time working on the wrong things. [TSOM-Announce] Labor Day practilonga 7:30-11:00

Hello Tango Friends,

 

This coming Monday, the Desperados will offer a Practilonga to bring a fabulous Labor Day weekend to an excellent close.  We’ll turn on the twinkly lights, and bring warm smiles and generous embraces to the dance floor. The masterful DJ Pablo will put us in motion with his artful selections of the finest tango recordings.  Hopefully, we will close our weekend in your delightful company.

 

The dance is $10 -- Unless of course, you are an up-to-date Desperado... Then it is free.

 

And of course, Desperados, being of the people, by the people, etc… Well, we welcome you to become a subscriber anytime. Even as you walk in to Practilonga. Then the dance is free, and you have 3 months of open practica to enjoy into the bargain!

[TSOM-Announce] State Fair Thursday and Monday, Krung Thep milonga tonight

Tango at the MN State Fair: Thanks to everyone who has signed up!  It will be a lot of fun. It is not too late to join us! If you are interested in helping, contact me and arrange for your free ticket. Or just show up! Just outside the Education Building, on the Community stage. 10, 11 and 12:00 noon on Thursday and Monday. We will have a literature table - of course TSoM's literature will be there. I also have flyers from Tango Deperados. If you would like other tango related literature there, bring it, drop it off, or send it with a friend.

First Wednesday at Krung Thep!!  Wednesday, September 2nd. Record turnout last month - let's keep it up! Good dancers, wood floor, great food and wine, music that you love, free parking. Krung Thep Thai restaurant, 2523 Nicollet Ave S. Mpls.
