Maria Olivera, la Diosa del Tango Argentino in Minneapolis

Become a supporting member today at:  https://www.mntango.org/membership/ Maria Olivera - Workshops in Minneapolis on March 21 & 22, 2020   Maria Olivera is also called la Diosa del Tango, and you'll find out why on March 21st 2020! She was born and raised in Buenos Aires, in a family of tangueros, immersed in the poetry and music of tango.  She has been dedicated to tango since 2003, she brings an open mind to tango, valuing all the different theories about how tango should look and feel like, keeping its essence.   Since 2007 she has been touring the world teaching, performing, djing and lecturing about the history and the philosophy that makes tango the unique passion that we all know and share.   To know more about her, visit her website: https://www.tangomaria.com/?lang=en   Kyra and Augusto are bringing her to Minneapolis and Rochester in March 2020.  Please contact them to get more information and to book privates with her. Your Happy Dancing Feet

Tango5400 has donated everything we've made and was in the bank from 2017 to 2019!    We are now reset and ready to save up and share again.    Of course this would never have happened without the amazing crew of Tango5400. So next time you see them give them all hugs because it is their hard work that made this possible. Milonga Mala Yunta - Bailes de Carnaval

Vals is so much fun, and is probably cited as people's favorite more than any other. But what's the secret? First we have to treat vals like the unique dance that it is, and not just repeat the same things we do in tango. We will investigate how to do that!  Thursday's 7:30 class gives you just a little frustration, but that means that you are learning.  Private Lessons:  Not progressing as you would like? A few more private lessons should fix that. Call or text to schedule. Tuesday Milonga: Always a fun time, - you've heard about the fun we have, come and check it out!  Next Week's Theme (March 3) : Lavender.  Wear your coolest lavender outfit, accessories, bring lavender wine, or lavender food?  Or just come over, party and dance. 9:00 after the lessons. Theme for March 10: Velvet Friday, Feb 28th, Tango to the Blues Night!!  Tango to the Blues and  Blues Dancing classes and outing! I get lots of requests to plan these nights - they are so much fun! First we'll have a class in how to feel the tango in blues music. Blues has many similarities to tango, and sometimes is more approachable than tango since our ears are more familiar with it.  I always see an increase in tango understanding with people who attend this class.  We will also have an introduction to blues dancing, which is really popular now, maybe even some swango.  This class is lots of fun, since you get to have your adult beverage during class! 7:00 pm: Blues dance/Tango to the Blues class at the studio, 3142 1st Ave S. $10 8:30:  Blues/tango/west coast swing dancing and hanging out at Schooner's bar at 2901 27th ave S, Minneapolis where the Harrison Street band will play. No cover, free parking! Afterwards we can go to the tango dance at Four Seasons. Upcoming: Special Bootcamp Classes for West Coast Swing, Ballroom Dancers in Argentine Tango. I dance these dances as well, so am uniquely qualified to help dancers from other disciplines understand the differences as well as the similarities. You want to be able to dance Argentine Tango - let's get there as quickly and smoothly as possible. And let's make sure we are doing it right!! Series starts Sunday, March 8th at 1:00. 3142 1st Ave S. We will add a second class as the first one gets full. $15/ 1.5 hour class.   Tango Boutique! Clothes, shoes and accessories for the dancer.  Clothes that fit, stay on, have color, flow beautifully, with real style.  And great prices! Shoes from $40 to $150, including some great values in preowned.  All clothes under $100. Come and shop during parties and get an unbiased opinion from seasoned tango dancers. :) Buenos Aires! Time to plan for 2020 if you want to go on my tour! The 2020 trip will be in November to December. Pick the dates that work for you and let me know so I can arrange housing. I'll need to know for sure, with a deposit, by the end of July 2020. Limited space is available, so that I can give you the attention you deserve. We have so much fun!
