Is a question that I have been asked many times. my reply usually is: dressy, but not glamorous. Easy moving clothes. No sequences on the shirts, and jackets without the shoulder padding (if possible)  And please, no dancing in shorts and long socks. (that should be outlawed to be begin with) And since we are on the subject, let's also address the sleeveless shirts for followers; when you wear deodorant it will stain the leaders clothes, and it simply isn't pleasurable to hold a wet armpit with your hand, or have it rest on your arm. This last little fact only became known to me when I started leading. When you follow your arm goes over the shoulder, the partners armpit is never a bother. We all sweat, and some more than others. Simply bring a clean shirt with you. I had some run ins with wardrobe malfunctions; a skirt with a think seam at the bottom  - easy for my heel to get caught in. The same with pant legs that were to wide at the bottom, my partner stepped all over them. And a couple of weeks ago, while dancing in Portland Oregon, I stepped on the dance floor to warn a woman who was wearing a short loose dress. Because of her close embrace the dress had come up and she was basically dancing in her bloomers. It didn't occur to her during the dance at all, she was "in the zone" Bottom line: the organizer goes out of their way to give you a special evening, dress accordingly. See you at the next milonga! This month as our special Saturday morning series: MUSICALITY NOW: what to do with the "extra" tango music. We all listen to the tango songs. Some are intriguing to us, some are maddening fast, or have slow sultry singers, beautiful violins and "the tango sound machine" the bandoneon. All are a little different and yet so very similar to which we have some insights for you. How to apply your tango technique to your tango music. This month both Miriam Ziven, our guest instructor, and Sabine Ibes will teach this class. Come and check it out! Finally the day is here!!!  I just want to send a reminder this Friday & Saturday, February 24th & 25th, we have the Twin Cities Tango Marathon with SEXTETO MILONGUERO performing both nights.

I hope you got your ticket already, you won't regret it!!!

About Saturday evening milonga at the Woman's Club, dinner will be available for purchase in the Ballroom, where we have the milonga.  There will be a menu on the tables for our convenience and we can order from there, between 5pm-8pm.  It's a limited menu but pretty good and reasonable priced.  I added a copy of the menu on FB and on our website:

Parking issues at Dance Life Unfortunately there have been to many "little issues" concerning parking at Dance Life Ballroom, and they tallied up to one big problem:   ON SATURDAY MORNING ONLY BEFORE NOON, you are not able to park at the parking lot around Dance Life Ballroom. AND AT NO TIME are you able to park at the Northern Brewer next door.     We understand that this is inconvenient at best, But, there is still plenty of parking on W60th street and on the south lot at Bachmans across the street.     Please be so kind and do not "sneak" in your car. Even if there is a spot available. These are reserved for Studio Time Out.    This is only for Saturday mornings BEFORE noon, any other time you are free to park in the parking lots, but NEVER in the Brewers lot next door! This week will be finding your center line and the ground through each and everyone of our movements!   For the month of February will be turning, both directions this week.  This is an all levels class.  Perfect for beginners or those who want to learn a new role.  

8pm Developing Your Tango Body 

We will continue with spirals , twisting and turning resulting in all kinds of new and wonderful that you can lead and or follow!  We will spend most of the hour son individual technique the take those ideas into partner work.

Classes: It's still Milonga Month!  We are learning more and getting lots of information, plus a lot of practice in this really fun dance. As the month moves on, we will start talking a little about vals as well. Lots of things we learn in milonga can translate to vals. If you are new to tango, or not yet working with close embrace, this is a great month to come to classes. Lots of things can start to make sense as you master milonga.  Women especially encouraged to come - milonga is really good for your technique.

[TSOM-Announce] Free Tango class on Valentine's Day Tuesday Feb 14 @ 7pm

Four Seasons Dance would like to honor the Valentine's Day holiday by offering a free class to new students of the tango. If you know of any friends or family that would like a taste of this beautiful dance to be included in their Valentine's plans please let them know we will be opening our beginners class to first -timers for no charge.Both couples and individuals are welcome. The class is from 7 to 8pm and will cover the basics of walking, frame, and some tasty patterns to give the newcomers a feel for the dance that most of you already know and love.  This offer is primarily for those that have never danced tango before, or those who have never visited our studio. Bruce Abas teaches the class.

For those of you who already study the dance, don't forget our Level 2 class (taught by Micheal Cordner and Andrea DuCane) meets every Tuesday at 8pm. This is an intensive study for those with at least 6 to 8 months of dancing already acheived. This is a challenging class that will further your skills and get you thinking "outside the box" to take your tango to new levels of creativity. This class will not be free on Valentine's Day, but for a mere $10, you will get a good tango workout with the other students that make up our regulars in this advanced class.Check it out!

I would like to apologize for my earlier ill-considered and hasty update about this weekend's Valentine milonga. there has been some very valid criticism of the wording.

So, after further consideration and discussion with other members, here is an additional update and clarification:

• A photo will taken of everyone to celebrate the day. Wearing red is encouraged but hue, pattern or even color choice is optional.TSoM is a color-blind organization.
