[TSOM-Announce] Jay Abling teaching in Minneapolis Dec. 2-15

Jay will be back in Minneapolis Dec. 2nd-15th. He will be returning to the basics for a series of classes that focus on the 'how' more then the 'what.'  Don't be fooled, these classes have complex subjects and interesting moves that will put you on the road to better dancing. Jay will be teaching 3 classes and is available for privates during his stay in Minneapolis. He has spent the past week teaching workshops and DJing at the Dallas Tango Festival. He is happy to be coming back to continue classes in MN!

Hola! TSoM annual elections are coming up at the January second Saturday milonga. Your election committee has been preparing a slate of candidates but we really could use another candidate or two. Please consider serving on your board of directors. It is a two year commitment. We meet once a month for 2 hours in the evening. This is a chance to make your voice heard in the direction of our association.

I am on my way to Buenos Aires today and will not be back until Dec 10. But I am reachable via email. Or talk to one of our other committee members: Irene Erickson (also in BsAs right now), March Muldoon, or Jim Dunn.

NEW NIGHT FOR NOVEMBER!

Join me Saturday night, November 21, in downtown Minneapolis for a night of Argentine Tango at Four Seasons Dance Studio. Relax in an inviting, bohemian atmosphere and dance to the classic tangos of the Golden Age. Although there is no lesson beforehand, beginners are welcome.

Light snacks, wine and soft drinks are available. Feel free to BYOB.

Pure Tango is pleased to have in attendance this Friday evening Guillermo and Gaby.

As a part of the weekend workshop they will be teaching a class prior to the milonga from 9-10 pm.

The workshop classes on Sat. and Sun. will be held at Dance Life studio.

My thanks once again to Diana Devi for including the milonga in her workshop weekend.

The milonga will start about 10 min. after the class with a demo sometime around 11 pm.

The class cost is 20.00 and the milonga fee is separate , the fee for the milonga is $10 and $5 for full time students.

As always feel free to byob , light snacks and treats are available.

I will be renewing my tango soul in BA - one of the reasons I know it is essential to go back to the Mecca of tango. [TSOM-Announce] New Start Time for 90 Minute Tango Class

When: Every Thursday 8 pm - 9:30 pm

Where: 4 Seasons Dance Studio 1637 Hennepin Ave Mpls, MN

This class is designed to improve your Tango on many levels and in many ways. The class starts with 15 minutes of fun and entertaining drills (although drills may be perceived as boring and mundane to some they are without a doubt the most beneficial way to create the quickest improvement towards a higher level of dance) by including drills into the new format you should expect to experience immediate and ongoing improvements. A full hour of instruction assisted by Vessela Kouneva will follow ending with the last 15 minutes in the form of a guided practice. Exploring each week's concepts during the practice session is sure to compliment and provide for continued growth in your dance. Each week a specific area of Tango will be dissected and broken down to it's most natural state. The goal of this class is to enhance the joy of our respective journey in this beautiful dance. If by instituting the newly discovered building blocks, new concepts and drills provided leads to a better experience onto the Milonga floor each week, you will have reached your goal. For those who just can't stand a weekend without tango, Rose and I have cooked up an event for Saturday, Nov 7, at Ballroom Dance Club located at 1103 W Burnsville Pkwy, Burnsville, MN 55337. I'll be giving a free beginner's lesson at 9:30 and the event begins at 10:00. Parking is plentiful, the floor is huge, and beer and wine are welcome!

Kate Shannon has offered to provide light refreshments and I'm bringing the first bottle of wine!

[TSOM-Announce] TSOM 2nd Saturday Milonga: Tango paintings for sale

Sale of work by Peter Truran.

You are invited to a sale, at Four Seasons Dance Studio, of my paintings, drawings and prints done over the last few years. It includes a number of tango paintings and prints, but also landscapes, flower paintings and figure drawings. 

The work will be shown in the studio beyond the main dance studio where the TSOM milonga will be held. Although the sale will take place at the milonga, it actually starts at 2PM on Saturday afternoon, so if there is an item that you particularly want to buy then you are advised to come earlier!
